Procrasti-blogger

My oh my. When I created this blog I had such good intentions of being on here frequently giving little blurbs of my every day life as a country bride.
um...... fail.
There were different times when I considered it for sure. The thought process went like this: "It would be fun to sit down and blog, but.....first I've really got to finish my laundry." or "I really should update my blog! So much as happened! But....the dishes!"
And of course, I never got to it.
But here's to starting again!
First big news of the day: rock-a-bye BABY! Probably not new news to any of you (....facebook ;)) but it still feels new to me! :-D And SO exciting. Simon and I are so thrilled to be parents and thank God for his wonderful little gift to us - our peanut (or "raspberry" as the pregnancy websites would say. That's approx. how big our little munchkin is right now). :)

News headline numero dos: I'm going to have to change the name of my blog because....I'm no longer going to be a "country" bride! We're moving to town! (blog re-name suggestions welcome ;)
We're very excited. This means Simon will be 12-15 minutes from work as opposed to 45 minutes. This is probably one of the things we're looking forward to most. We found a two bedroom apartment and (insert happy face) it has a wood fireplace! Can you say dream come true? I'm a huge fan of Fall and Winter and a wood fire is just icing on the cake (or "dark chocolate to the soul" in my case). ;) I can already picture two stockings hanging in front of the warm fire - A cozy little tree in the corner all lit up with lights and perhaps strung with popcorn and cranberries - the smell of pumpkin pie and homemade bread drifting through the house.....ahhhhhh :)

On a different note ("La, la la!"), today I was quite happy with a little recipe experiment I tried. I wanted an alternative way to satisfy my ever-present sweet tooth. So - when I was at Trader Joe's the other day, I picked up some frozen vanilla Greek yogurt. And today I tried my hand at making a berry smoothie. SUCCESS! Delicious.
- A few small scoops of frozen vanilla yogurt
- a splash of milk
- a few ice cubes
- 5 strawberries or so
- one very ripe banana
- a small handful of frozen blueberries

and....voila! A tasty (healthy!) snack.

That's all for now folks! :)

I will recount all of your wonderful deeds." ~ Psalm 9:1 (ESV)
